Fazzoli's-Style Garlic Butter Breadsticks: Soft, twisted breadsticks infused with rich garlic butter, perfect for dipping in your favorite sauce.

Ingredients


* 1 package dry instant yeast

* 1 cup warm water (110°) [Split into two 1/2 cups]

* 2 Tablespoons sugar

* 1/4 cup butter (melted)

* 2½ to 3 cups all-purpose flour

* 1 Tsp of Salt


~Garlic Seasoning~

½ cup butter, melted

1 teaspoon kosher salt

1½ teaspoons garlic powder, or to taste

½ teaspoon oregano





Preparation

~Mixing Dough~

Combine ½ cup warm water, 2 Tbsp sugar and 1 packet instant dry yeast and whisk, set aside. Melt 4 Tbsp of butter and set aside to cool. Once the yeast mixture is foamy, add it to a stand mixer bowl with ½ cup of water and 1½ cups of flour. Stir it with your stand mixer with the paddle attachment. Once the dough is a smooth batter, add in the cooled melted butter, teaspoon of salt and about 1 cup of flour. Continue to mix on low speed until a soft, sticky dough is formed. Switch to the dough hook. Add a little remaining flour (½ cup) and knead with the dough hook, adding more flour until dough is smooth and elastic. Form the dough into a smooth ball. Butter a large bowl and transfer the dough into the bowl. Turn the dough all over, so the dough is covered with butter on all sides. Cover with plastic wrap or a clean towel and set in a warm spot. This will take about 1 hour to 1½ hour.


~Shaping~

Once dough has doubled in size, punch down and divide into 12 pieces. Let rest for 10 minutes. Then roll into an 8-10 inch rope. Place them on a parchment covered cookie sheet. Cover with plastic wrap or clean towel and set in a warm place until doubled in size for about 30 minutes to an hour.


~Baking~

1. Melt ½ cup butter.

2. Mix 1 teaspoon kosher salt, 1½ teaspoons garlic powder, and ½ teaspoon oregano in a small bowl and set aside.

3. Preheat the oven to 400° F.

4. Brush the breadsticks with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder mixture.

5. Place in the oven for 5 minutes.

6. After 5 minutes brush with butter and sprinkle with garlic powder mixture. Return to the oven for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.

7. Remove from oven and brush generously with remaining butter and sprinkle with powder mixture.
